Home for the Holidays...

What an eventful week. I love visiting with friends from home, a baby being born (congrats T and Bill!), the traditional Chevy Chase Christmas Vacation watching, cookie baking with grandma, being warned that I am going to get coal for Christmas, finding packages under the tree from "Santa", etc..

I could go on and on.

What I love the most is that in a few days we will be celebrating the birth of our Savior. I have learned recently in my life, in times of lonliness I always have a friend in Christ. I think sometimes I have let myself believe that no one is there for me, when the most important person in the world is. Time to celebrate that special day!

Family

It is/was Thanksgiving. What am I thankful for? More than anything I am thankful for my family. I have been really lost lately as to what direction God is taking me in life. It has brought many tears and many lonely nights, but through it all God and my family has been ever present in my life and I am THANKFUL.

When the times get tough
God's grace and love abundentley flow
When I think that I've had enough
The encouragement and love of those around me, tell me to "go."

I love being home in Celina for these few days. I love being home for the tickling wars and wrestling with my brother, the incessant laughing with all members of my family, for the corny jokes from my mom, for my dad helping me out with all projects that require "handy" work, family movie night, homework hugs...

For everyone who understands what it is like to be around the love of a family, make sure you tell them how thankful you are for them and how much you love them.

I LOVE YOU GUYS!

Musical Inventions

My Third Graders are currently listening to a tape that talks about Tchaikovsky's life. Well, this week Tchaikovsky talks about inventions in his time. We took a little time talked about inventions and then I had them come up with their own musical invention!

This was a newspaper ad with a headline at the top, the picture of the musical invention all colored, and then a couple sentences about what their musical invention was and what it did. The projects turned out GREAT!

In other news... the other day I said a phrase like this on accident, "We are going to listen to this song, so put your crap underneath your chair." It happened folks.. and for those teachers out there you know that words like that NEVER come out of your mouth. My fifth graders did not really pick up on it thank goodness, I think they have heard much worse. My cooperating teacher and I laughed and laughed... I couldn't look at her cause I knew I would continue to laugh. OH MY student teaching! :)

MOONLIGHT MADNESS...

So there we were at MOONLIGHT MADNESS.... the big Cedarville Basketball opener. Having a grand time, getting free pop, watching some people shoot hoops, goofing off with friends, NOT throwing random objects down people's pants (LONG story.. ).

Anyways.. as you are walking in they were selling TOWELS for $10. $10 for a handtowel... don't think so. The point is.. they are the COLORS of the JACKETS. Woo hoo... we back the Jackets, all the way. haha. I think that is how it goes. (You will probably never see me at another game ). Well I  guess the ART of these towels, was to wave them in the air.. like you just don't care. As I was staring across to the other side of the gym.. I saw this ART becoming a FULL BODY movement. All due to a towel. I was not aware that waving a towel involved shaking your hips, arms, and everything else your momma gave you.

What a grand experience.

p.s. NAY'S ENGAGED....   a week lata...

Oh the Lord is Good to Me...

1 Chronicles 16:11   "Seek the LORD and his strength, seek his face continually."

2 Peter 3:18 "
But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen."

Superchick: Bowling Ball

Chorus
You need that boy like a bowling ball dropped on your head
Which means not at all
You have too much to give to live to waste your time on him
You need that boy like a bowling ball dropped on your head
Which means not at all
You have too much to give to live to waste your time on him
